Augmented Reality in Museums

Augmented reality (AR) is a term for a live direct or an indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by computer-generated sensory input, such as sound or graphics.
It is an idea of the museum as an educational tool in the service of societal development.
At the center of this idea of a museum lie not things, but people.
The museum as an institution would either have to change radically or lose its right to exist and sooner or later disappear.
The concept of “re-creating” the original, or using knowledge of paint and art conservation, as well as digital imaging technology, to reconstruct paintings or artifacts to their original state.
AR will work as a personal guide to visitors by adding an additional layer of information(Video and 3D Models) to the sculptures, paintings, artifacts and other museum objects.
